Software Compiling?

Been thinking, i've haven't fulfill any of my resolutions at all it seems. So i'm thinking, i'm just gonna go with the flow and probably update anything i might find interesting to share here.

I've been thinking of doing a Software Compiling post every now and then. Update any quality 'must have' software for PC here so people might find it useful and also remind me of it. Soft of like a documentation. As we all know, there are tons of similar software and going through it as really a pain. So yeah, that is all for today i guess and i'm gonna leave you with what i find the most useful video editor to edit short films.

Its called 'CyberLink PowerDirector 11'.

Its a really powerful software and unlike other editors, you can go stream fragments of your videos in real time. But remember to update that software first.

A Thousand Regrets

This film is one of the top 6 video in that semester picked by Dr. Mardian himself and it's been premiered on 21/3/2013. To be honest, i was quite surprised when i was picked. I still remember the day when i thought mine wasn't selected. It was devastating but at the end, it turns out well. Also, im the only one from my section whom got their video posted so i'm proud of that achievement i guess. My first time directing a film.

First Injury

Calf Injury

It was devastating. It felt like a whole chunk of calf muscle exploded. It happened when i tried to kick the ball with power but the irony thing is, my planting foot (left) is the one which got injured. When it happened, there is no one around except a bunch of rugby players and a girl walking beside the field. All my friends went back and i was there practicing my freekick. I admit, when it happened i got panic a bit, i lie down on the grass and try to get back on my feet. My calf did recovered a bit and i was able to walk and luckily one of my friend with his girlfriend is waiting for me and gave me a lift. I was really grateful for them, or else i don't think i would be able to walk back to my hostel. What i've read from the net, minor calf injury would take around 2 weeks to be fully recover so i guess im out of the game until then.. It's a nice experience though, at least now i know how injury felt like. Until then, ciao.

Inspiration.

It has been a while since i've update my blog, but at least it's still a blog a month.

This month has been buzy for me, in fact, the semester is probably going to be very packed and i probably won't have much time to acheive 2 videos a day and even if i did, it wont have any improvement which defeats the purpose of my 'progression video'.

So, my life so far, been playing football consistently at least and i think i've improve little by little each time i play it. Music activity, not very much and the highlight of this month is probably the Chinese New Year celebration. As usual, i'm not so close with my relatives, like every other year, but, i think i've been getting closer to my uncle. Hung out with him last week, and found out that we had a topic of same interest, yep, you guessed it, Football. So things has been going well lately among my friends and family so there is nothing else to talk about it.

I've decided to write a post today simply because of a new inspiration. This inspiration came from a rejection from my previous inspiration (Yep, its complex). I've been assigned, chosen by my assignment members that i would be the leader, the director for our short film. I was pretty hyped up about that, having great ideas and i can exploit my creativity and my experience as a school actor for this project. Things were going well with the group, i can tell you, they all thought my story were brilliant. Everyone was excited and was raring to start the filming, and the last thing i had to do is to get a confirmation of the story with my lecturer. Guess what? He REJECTED my story before i even get to finish it... TWICE (Morning and night)! I was so devastated and annoyed because he never gave it a chance. He gave me suggestions and all to make the film of his liking which i thought was mediocre and stereotypical. Nothing much i can do, so i let it go, and i guess i may just have to express my story in my blog.

This is another milestone for this blog. Instead of just playing the piano here, i think IF i had inspirations coming, i would write it here, on the post. So we will have variety of contents around here. I can't wait to find the time and finish my 'Short Story' here. And who knows, if he decides to approve my EDITED version of my storyline, maybe we can have the film and i would gladly post it here. I end my post here, ciao.

2013

Hello there,

Well, today is the last day of the month, which means.. RESULT DAY. This day normally gives much excitement to many, but i for one, feel maybe i shouldn't care too much about it anymore. As i always preach, results aren't everything so right here, right now, i'm going to post some of things that are expected of myself by the end of 2013.

I can start off this post by saying despite by bad form, i still can get into the deans' list. So i guess maybe i should fulfill my potential for this year as i have no expectations of any relationship WHICH MEANS no distraction. :)

WHAT I'VE STARTED SO FAR :-
ACTIVE: Last year i took up jogging seriously, this year its football. So what i aim to do is to join a marathon and make football a monthly, hopefully a weekly activity. My aim is to join both KL marathon and Penang bridge marathon, just for the experience.
MUSIC : As obviously as it may be, music is my number one passion, i even thought of joining a music course in university but unfortunately my parents cant afford and also, wont let me join it. haha. Anyways, i've already started playing by ear, and earlier this week, i've tried jazz improvisation. Since i already have a keyboard nearby i should really improve this year. I feel like giving classical a rest for the moment as i am looking to expand my repertoire this year. Also, i will try to upload maybe 2-4 progression videos to this blog every month, excluding January to see how far i've gone.
STUDIES : Well, as usual, i'm not going anywhere so i've plan to make the most of it but studying about programming as much as i can. It's vital for my future career. My plan is to finish all programming syllabus from the University as soon as possible as it is the fundamental base for my skill. Only after finishing it, i shall think of moving forward.
LANGUAGE : I should finally learn mandrin. Being a chinese without knowing it would make communication harder between my own race so yeah.
ATTITUDE : I've shown character, which i should retain this. So the next thing that i should improve is by not being lazy travel more. Yes, there are many things that i can do in a year, but i can only do them by moving around. I don't have any transport yes, but i can still go to places. Taking up opportunities when i see them. Who knows, impromptu's are the best kind of experience.

Final Examination - First Semester

It is finally done. I've finally completed a semester for my first degree here in Uniten. As i am sitting here writing this blog post, you can expect that there's no really any celebration tonight. To put the whole semester into one word, i'd describe it as : AMAZING.

In my opinion, doing degree in Software Engineering here in Uniten is not challenging at all. But enough of Uniten, I'm just going to dive in and talk about my experience now.

My first semester in degree is fairy similar to the first semester in foundation. Few occasions that are similar such as getting to perform piano for Uniten's Convocation, getting a rank up for my club (Promoted to secretary for the bowling club) and ending the semester with my housemate.

One thing that i'd like to point out is that I've started very VERY badly earlier in the semester. To be honest, I've entered this University by force, because degree started two days after getting my Foundation CGPA which doesn't really give you much time to think about your future. So due to that, I've started with very low motivation and that's the main reason of why I'm not performing well and skips a lot of classes. My midterm marks were bad, most of them at least. I've know that im on a red alert so there's only one thing left to do, work hard on assignments and project during the final weeks before final, I put a belief inside myself; that is to have a great CHARACTER. The main reason of this is to avoid repeating my bad 'Final Week Run' which always happened during foundation. I can proudly say i pulled up my carry marks and actually made it look decent. Although it still doesn't look very good, i forget about that and just strive and work as hard as i could for my finals. All i can say is i did all i can and i have no regrets.
To add to this, I have no aim for this semester because as far as i am concern my aim is already completed that is I've shown the character that i expect to.

This is just a personal summary post of my semesters so i can improve in the future.
